Make Your Thanksgiving Count! -Rev. Dr. Onisoshene Shedrack Charles

2 Chronicles 29:3‭-‬4‭, ‬10‭-‬11‭, ‬25‭-‬36 KJV
He in the first year of his reign, in the first month, opened the doors of the house of the LORD, and repaired them. And he brought in the priests and the Levites, and gathered them together into the east street, Now it is in mine heart to make a covenant with the LORD God of Israel, that his fierce wrath may turn away from us. My sons, be not now negligent: for the LORD hath chosen you to stand before him, to serve him, and that ye should minister unto him, and burn incense. And he set the Levites in the house of the LORD with cymbals, with psalteries, and with harps, according to the commandment of David, and of Gad the king’s seer, and Nathan the prophet: for so was the commandment of the LORD by his prophets. And the Levites stood with the instruments of David, and the priests with the trumpets. And Hezekiah commanded to offer the burnt offering upon the altar. And when the burnt offering began, the song of the LORD began also with the trumpets, and with the instruments ordained by David king of Israel. And all the congregation worshipped, and the singers sang, and the trumpeters sounded: and all this continued until the burnt offering was finished. And when they had made an end of offering, the king and all that were present with him bowed themselves, and worshipped. Moreover Hezekiah the king and the princes commanded the Levites to sing praise unto the LORD with the words of David, and of Asaph the seer. And they sang praises with gladness, and they bowed their heads and worshipped. Then Hezekiah answered and said, Now ye have consecrated yourselves unto the LORD, come near and bring sacrifices and thank offerings into the house of the LORD. And the congregation brought in sacrifices and thank offerings; and as many as were of a free heart burnt offerings. And the number of the burnt offerings, which the congregation brought, was threescore and ten bullocks, an hundred rams, and two hundred lambs: all these were for a burnt offering to the LORD. And the consecrated things were six hundred oxen and three thousand sheep. But the priests were too few, so that they could not flay all the burnt offerings: wherefore their brethren the Levites did help them, till the work was ended, and until the other priests had sanctified themselves: for the Levites were more upright in heart to sanctify themselves than the priests. And also the burnt offerings were in abundance, with the fat of the peace offerings, and the drink offerings for every burnt offering. So the service of the house of the LORD was set in order. And Hezekiah rejoiced, and all the people, that God had prepared the people: for the thing was done suddenly.

When Solomon had to consecrate the Temple, Solomon and the people brought more than enough.
There was a rule that offerings must be burnt in the holy of hollies, but when that was filled up, God set aside his law to have the sacrifices to be burnt in the outer court.

When your sacrifices are in excess, God set aside laws to favour you.

Hezekiah had just been made King and the people going to make sacrifices.
The Number of Priests available were inadequate and God allowed the Levites who were ready to burn the sacrifices.

•God can use the mean things of this world for his greatness.
•He will not compromise His wisdom with the wisdom of this world.
•Anytime you see faith, there is an element in of foolishness.
Faith obeys the last order which is foolishness to man.

Faith that Questions God is foolishness.
When it comes to the sacrifices we make for God, excuses are not permitted.
God places demands on us on expects us to move. When it becomes difficult, He takes over.

God expects obedience and never argues with anyone.
It is the devil that forces men against their will. God does not force any man. He expects us to obey, because the master’s business requires haste!

Excuse is the house of the poor.
Anyone that struggles too much is because he has many excuses.
If God says TAKE A STEP, you take a step!

I don’t have a husband
I don’t have money
I don’t have anyone

Mary said: I know no man …God knows every man
I don’t have anything – He owns the cattles upon a thousand hills.

•You don’t wait for open doors.
•You take a step first.
•You don’t wait to see doors of Nations open first. He has given you the keys to the Nations.

God said to Abraham, pack your bags and go to a place I will show you.

Which God?
Have you seen Him before?

The decision to move was foolishness.
Faith wey get sense no dey please God.

Romans 4:18 KJV
Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations, according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be.

•Thanksgiving encapsulates all our prayers.
•It is not a day for requests.
Come with your best
•Look your best, because God is expecting Thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving is the beginning of a better and greater start.
Does it mean that all my prayers have been answered?
No!

When a child lifts up his hands to an adult, he is expecting to be carried .
Thanksgiving is lifting up our hands to God

Thanksgiving Requires 3 things:
i. Your heart
ii. Your God
The
iii. Thanksgiving Offering.

•You cannot be thanking God with a heart of dissatisfaction.
•You do not give God what you have, but what you think is proper!
•It is a preparation. You can make it more than you planned for!

God’s provision is dependent on His ability to provide. Thanksgiving demands your all and must be in abundance!

2 Samuel 24:24 KJV
And the king said unto Araunah, Nay; but I will surely buy it of thee at a price: neither will I offer burnt offerings unto the LORD my God of that which doth cost me nothing. So David bought the threshingfloor and the oxen for fifty shekels of silver.

I can do anything for this God who saved me and in return, He can do anything for me!

It is not just preparing for an to ceremony, your God, your heart, must be be prepared!

You do not give whatsoever you have, but whatsoever you think you should give.
God is a provider!

Nothing dies in the hands of a man that thanks God properly.

It is only an impure heart that complains. A heart that is right says, it is possible… When your heart rules your mind, your heart can be right.

My experiences does not determine how I serve God. Church is not a limit liability company. It is a place where God lives!

Nothing dies in the hands of a man who thanks God!

For everyone still expecting a blessing from God, before the end of this year, God will remember you!

Ecclesiastes 9:4 KJV
For to him that is joined to all the living there is hope: for a living dog is better than a dead lion.

•That Boss will suddenly Remember your name!
•Your debtors will pay up!
•You dreams will come true!

How can pay for salvation?
How can you thank God for the live of God?

What is the blood of Jesus worth for your life?
God gave his best to save you and I.

•Get your heart ready.
•May it the best you have every done!

Malachi 3:10 KJV
Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.

•God is still looking for men who will taste him.
•He is the God who gives seed to the sower
•When we thank God, we preload our request before God.
•When we come with a ready heart, miracles happen.
God bless you!
