May For His Glory in Church -Dcns. Comfort J. Effiong

Genesis 2:15
Then the LORD God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to tend and keep it.(NKJV).

  • The redeemed man is saddled with the responsibility of keeping God’s garden

Hebrews 12:23
to the general assembly and church of the firstborn who are registered in heaven, to God the Judge of all, to the spirits of just men made perfect,(NKJV).

  • The Churchnis an assembly of God’s first born.

Ephesians 5:26-27
26 that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word, 27 that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish.

  • God loves the church and has given Himself for the Church.
  • As Christian, we all should do the same to members of the body. God owns the Church and wants to present to Himself, a glorious Church. We should also owned the Church.
  • Matthew 16:18
And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.(NKJV).

Christ is focussed on building the church.

  • 2 Thessalonians 2:13-14
13 But we are bound to give thanks to God always for you, brethren beloved by the Lord, because God from the beginning chose you for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and belief in the truth, 14 to which He called you by our gospel, for the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. (NKJV).
  • For everyone redeemed, the glory of God is embedded in us.
  • Genesis 2:15
Then the LORD God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to tend and keep it.

The body is not without spots or wrinkles, but it is cleased by the Word.

  • As we hear, believe, sit under the unction of the word we are blessed. Why then do we not cover the nakedness of the Church? It is because we do not know that the body is still undergoing cleansing

  • Christ dressed us up and covered our nakedness with His glory.
  • To dress involves dressing up, covering up, adornment
  • To keep – involves preservation, to own, protection and guarding jealously.
  • After today, with the glory of God inside us, we will clean up one another, make beautiful one another, in the Name of Jesus! Amen.
  • Mathew 11; 39 All things have been committed to me by my Father. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses
  • Ephesians 3:10
to the intent that now the manifold wisdom of God might be made known by the church to the principalities and powers in the heavenly places,(NKJV).
  • In Christ, the fullness of God is revealed in us

We are carrying the fullness of God’s glory to display it to principalities and all the territorial powers

  • God is looking at a glorious Church, a triumphant church that the gate of hell cannot prevail
  • Let us not fight one another, but be determined to dress one another. We are made for Gis glory, even in Church!
